Earrings in a Dream in Islam: Meaning by Ibn Sirin

In Islam, an earring in a dream is read according to its material and to who wears it. Two earrings set with pearls announce the beauty of this world, the Qur’an, religion and a beautiful voice. For a man, an earring can point to a taste for singing. If that is not his case and a woman of his family is pregnant, a gold earring announces a boy and a silver one a girl.
فإن رأى في أذنيه قرطين مرصعين باللؤلؤ فإنه يصيب من زينة الدنيا وجمالهاIn the Ibn Sirin collection: “If he sees in his ears two earrings set with pearls, he obtains a share of the adornment of this world and its beauty.”

The collection adds to this sentence that the dreamer is also given the Qur’an, religion, a beautiful voice and completeness in his affairs, because the pearl is the beauty of everything. The passage on the earring is in the chapter on gold, silver and jewellery. It separates the gold earring from the silver one, and states that the earring has the same meaning for a man and for a woman.

Ibn Sirin’s story about the earring
رأيت كأن في إحدى أذني قرطا فقال كيف كان غناؤك فقال إني لحسن الصوتA man came to Ibn Sirin and said: “I saw something like an earring in one of my ears.” He asked him: “How was your singing?” The man replied: “I have a beautiful voice.”

Ibn Sirin read the earring directly as the sign of singing, in line with the passage that comes before this story.
